Q&A: What Does “Recovery ” Mean in Purchasing/procurement Terms?

Question by theowlery_hedwig: What does “recovery ” mean in purchasing/procurement terms?
For example, product A uses 2 kg of raw material A and 3 kg of raw material B. If raw material A costs $ 5/kg with 80% recovery and raw material B costs $ 8/kg with 85% recovery, how much is the cost of raw materials used to produce 1 unit of product A? My question is,what does “recovery” here mean?Would it have an effect in the calculations?

It means that when a situation is sick…..and gets better……when it is restored, it means it went through a “recovery”.
