Question by chicksplayxbox2: I’m on antidepressants and want a hunt/target 4 yr gun permit in Indiana can I get one?
I’ve been on an anti depressant for my anxiety for years and for about 6 months now I’ve been going to the range to shoot their handgun and buying their ammo. I’ve decided that i would like to buy a handgun to bring to the range so I have two questions #1 with a target permit am I able to carry my gun to the range? And will being on anti depressants affect my results. I’m in Indiana btw I’m a 23yr old female with no criminal record.

Unless you have been adjudicated a danger to yourself or others by a court, you can normally purchase a weapon.

You may wish to reconsider if this is wise however.

I was suicidal for many years after I came out of the closet. When I was discharged from the Army for Article 125 UCMJ, I sat in a chair with a loaded handgun for a few hours crying. Fortunately, I didn’t kill myself. It could have gone the other way if I didn’t have a strong belief in God.

Now I have a good job, a house, and I am extremely happy.

If you are on antidepressants, you probably should not be owning a gun.
